AWESOME SUPPORT!

I took on a new client and they didn’t have a dev server only their live site and they want to make MAJOR changes. I’m a developer with over 10 years of experience so creating a clone of their current site on a dev server is no problem AT all for me but this site had some weird hinky table left over from their site developer and for some reason it was causing an error in the import to the new server.

So I went hunting for a migration tool. I’d never used one before but I was willing to purchase one if needed but I had a feeling that the same issue would occur. I found this plugin and it said it would do what I wanted for FREE. I know it was worth a shot so I installed and went to the steps and sure enough it errored.

I reached out to support just to see if there was something I could do to fix what was erroring and then finish the process. IT WAS AMAZING! I didn’t have to do a thing but notify support and they skipped the table causing the issue and then manually imported that in and now I have a dev site I can run with. It took them probably 8 attempts to import (you get an email with each attempt) but they didn’t give up and they got the job done.
