Awesome plugin

  • I started to realize I had several images in full resolution, weighing in at 4MB at times. Learning WordPress is seemingly a never-ending journey, which is awesome! This plugin truly works and makes getting performance enhancing dru.. hrm, features… easy.

    I wasn’t a fan of the 1MB limit on the pictures though, I felt inclined to sign up for the free trial, for that purpose alone, then I discontinued it. Of course, the authors need to monetize, but I felt that it wasn’t worth to pay for essentially that alone. (I know premium have more features than that, none of which I could justify paying for.)

    Great plugin nevertheless, and if you have pictures above 1MB, you can sign up for the free trial. I wish they’d increase that limit a wee bit though.

  • Thank you for taking the time to review and rate Smush! We will take your suggestion into consideration. We spend a lot of time discussing what we are capable of giving for free. The Smush servers currently compress around 20 million images per-day trimming close to 100GB of data from image files and that number continues to grow. I know adding another 1 or 2 megabytes sounds like a small ask, but this could potentially double the amount of data passing through Smush overnight. This will have a big impact on our servers and cost moving forward. Thank you again for adding your thoughts to the discussion. It really is valuable information as we work to provide the best service possible for everyone.
