Awesome but just 1 little malfunction on portraits to paysage
-
Hello.. I found something not functioning as expected.
Process :
> I did set up an image size with cropping (with the plugin Easy image size) for my portfolio featured images : size paysage 650×350
> With your plugin Image Regenerate & Select Crop, I set up a rule for portfolios to overwrite the main image with this custom size
> Then when I went in your function panel into a portfolio page above the featured image clicked on “image details” to regenerate this image size and updated the featured main size on top of the screen
> works perfect with a paysage original picture, for exemple 1024×600 > generate 650×350 = ok
> BUT doesn’t make the right size for portrait original image 672×900 > generate 340×455 = not the expected portrait 650×350
NOTE that in that case I have no Large image (NOT FOUND) which is set up to 1024×1024
TRIED also to reupload the original file and same wrong size ending 340×455Any idea of what’s going wrong there? Anyway, I’m going to resize this one by hand but it would be perfect if this scenario was solved in the future.
Also, you should think to add the functionalities to create custom images size so we wouldn’t have to add the plugin Easy image size and it makes sens.
Another thing, I was looking for in the first place, was to be able to crop myself manually some images and I ended up adding CropRefine plugin (which is good but I’m affraid my client will try to resize under minimum size quality as there is no minimum ratio set up for the cropping)… and for my client it will be a bit complicate to understand were to do what with separate tools, so maybe it’s an improvement you will think to add in the future (maybe on a premium) for exemple a little crop icon beside the regenerate buttons. I would definilty pay for that.
Many thanks for this great tool!
It saves a lot of time and the rules are just fantastic! (maybe missing an “add rules” button if we need more rules ?)Have a nice day
