I’m using Signature Watermark on a site where we only want to watermark the full size images, not thumbnails or medium size images. This all works just fine, until I go to set a featured image / post thumbnail for my post – as WordPress goes and gets the full size image and creates a new thumbnail from that, so my post thumbnail ends up with a watermark on it, which I don’t want.

I know this is probably more of either a WordPress or a theme issue, but as it seems to be a problem that may crop up from time to time for people wanting to watermark full size images but not thumbnails, I though I’d check here under the plugin to see if anyone can suggest a solution.

I’ve so far had no luck in figuring out how to get WP to not create the post thumbnail from the full size image.

The only solution we have at this time would be to use a different watermark plugin, we offer several different options.
If you used a plugin such as bulk watermark, you could upload images to your site normally, without adding watermarks.
Then after the thumbnail is generated, you could manually add a watermark to the full size image.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank You!
