• There are so many things wrong with this plugin, I don’t know where to start.

Optimization of homepage + 5 pages , embedded images included.

This is mentioned on the Plugin Description page and is weird all by itself. As deferring JS & CSS and enabling Cache for pages and images is site-wide optimization, how do they restrict it to just 6 pages? Do they host these pages for you?

A page showing these two messages appears after activating the plugin.

Follow these steps to get started:

    Step 1
    Connect your website to 10Web
Sign up and connect your website to 10Web
to enable the 10Web Booster service.

Maybe I missed it but I did not see any mention of signup required, on the Description nor the Installation page. If a signup is required to use the plugin then common courtesy would require a mention of that–before installing the plugin.

    Step 2
    Optimize your website’s frontend
Automatically optimize the frontend of your site,
get a 90+ PageSpeed and pass Core Web Vitals.

Well that’s just a false statement all the way around. If one has their Hosting account on a bad server, using a bad Theme and/or bad coding of web pages, then no plugin is going to get a 90+ rating no matter how hard they try. A house built on sand with a new roof and new paint, is still a bad house when the going gets rough.

There is mention at 10web.io on their “90-pagespeed-score” page; they guarantee that every website connected to their platform gets a 90+ PageSpeed score.

The above page seems to agree with my statement about the Hosting server because the page builds up “their” Hosting services in order to get that 90+ score. What if one does not want their web pages hosted anywhere else, except on the server their Domain name is already hosted on?

I do not often write bad plugin reviews as I know a lot of work goes into providing a “free” plugin to us but is definitely not free to the plugin creator. In this case though, there is too much chuff and misdirection associated with this plugin to take it seriously and every reason to avoid it.

  • Dear @website-rob

Hi. My name is Tigran and I am the CEO at 10Web. We are really very sorry that you had such an experience with the plugin. Thank you for sharing your feedback. It is very important for us as the plugin is new in the market and we need to find out all issues that plugin users may face and fix them to make our product better.

Regarding the restrictions of the free version to optimization of 6 pages.

10Web Booster optimizes webpages on our servers, but does not host them there. Literally our servers load webpages of a website, one by one, analyze the loading process of each page and identify optimization opportunities per each page. Caching, JS delay, Critical CSS generation and other optimization techniques are applied with different optimizations per each page, depending on what scripts and styles there are. The same for images: each image is uploaded to image optimization server, a script is being run there, and the resulting optimized image is returned back to a website. All these optimizations cost computational and network resources to us. It is fair that we made the free version limited to 6 pages only. Optimization of 6 pages is enough for 95% of all plugin users. Those needing more optimization may upgrade to the premium version of the plugin.

Requirement of signup for connecting and optimizing websites.

Our apologies. As the section in the plugin description is called Installation, we added only installation requirements. We will add sign up instructions to that section as well for your convenience.

The feasibility of 90+ PageSpeed score.

10Web Booster plugin optimizes webpages so that they get 90+ PageSpeed score both on mobile and desktop devices. 90+ can be achieved for almost all webpages, only with few exceptions. While hosting performance definitely affects the PageSpeed of webpages, whether they achieve 90+ or not depends much more on frontend optimization techniques, not backend performance. That is why it is possible to achieve 90+ with almost any hosting, and migration of a website to 10Web hosting is not a requirement to get 90+. You may verify this by running Google PageSpeed Insights and checking the PageSpeed score of websites optimized by 10Web Booster. You may check with websites hosted on different hosting providers (including shared hosting) and confirm that 90+ is feasible.

Again, apologies for the experience you had. Please let us know whether you had any chance to use the plugin and if you had any issue. We are happy to provide any help needed. I hope my answers above will satisfy you. We also kindly ask you to reconsider your review taking into account that you have had no issues with 10Web Booster.

A minor correction to my answer: in the free version, caching is enabled for all pages, not only 6, as caching is being done locally on a user’s website.

Can only get my home page to optimise
can get any more optimised on the free version

Hello, when I installed 10web booster on my website my website started showing this code on the top left of my website, see the screenshot here https://tinyurl.com/yongo4ma . Is there any way to get rid of this?
