• I bought the “upgrade” last night – which turns out to be an annual subscription.

After licensing the product, I created six galleries to post on my home page – a photography website.

None of the galleries appear with thumbnails. I tried every setting I could find and, no change…no thumbnails, just a camera icon.

Older galleries appear fine that were made with this product.

I wrote to their customer service department and sent screenshots of the issue.

    Their response:

“…And I can see that gallery is not made using Modula…”

I sent back the screenshot of all of the Modula Galleries.

They were ALL made with Modula.

So at this point, it’s a dispute with PayPal and my bank to get my $69.00 back from this company that has no customer support and wants $69 annually.

Avoid. Find another product for your WordPress photography site.

  • Dear @pc-assist,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. While it’s not easy to see such a review, we still appreciate the feedback. Feedback like yours helps us improve.

I am really sorry you are having a tough time with plugin and support. We take support very seriously and do our best to help every single Modula user – we clearly failed in your case.

While no software is completely free of bugs and our plugin is certainly not immune to that, that specific issue you are having does not appear to be coming from Modula. As I mentioned in my reply the main gallery on your homepage and the images that display the camera icon do not seem to be created using Modula.
Here is a screenshot with that gallery’s code: https://imgur.com/a/YNWD59k

It seems to be created using your theme’s features/options. Because it’s a different gallery from Modula we cannot tell for certain why that issue happens and we would need to investigate further. If you are willing to give us another chance, we would be more than happy to help take a look – even if that is not our product.
To clarify a bit more, here is a gallery from your site created using Modula to better see the difference in the coding: https://imgur.com/a/jxHsQRf

Older galleries appear fine that were made with this product.

I can also see the galleries made with Modula seem to work fine, I sent you a couple examples in my email response.

Hope this clears things out a bit and we thank you for writing in and sharing your thoughts.

    Respectfully,
    Mihaela

I agree with this review. The authors don’t respond to support requests and the plug-in is only marginally functional. We are also looking into a dispute with Paypal.

    Hi,

I am using this plugin now since about two week and just wrote a 5 star review!
I just have been curious what people, who give a bad feedback, are writing.

Well, my experience is 180° the opposite. Lovely support! – Ticket via Modula Website, not here.

I also made wrong clicks first and things did not work out as I expected. But with fact based feedback from Modula support, I had to recognize, that I made something wrong.

I am writing this, because fairness is one of my main values. We cannot make other people responsible for making own mistakes.

    Good luck!
    Petra
