    Hi Thomas,

Wondering if you have any guidance on avoiding staging site tracking?

I am not seeing staging environment pings in FB/GA4/Google Ads (I guess because the staging domain is different than the live domain) however when I preview both the Web and Server containers I see the staging site events. So I am wondering if there is any precaution we should take to ensure we are not wasting our Server resources / sending misleading traffic to our advertising channels? e.g. creating an exclusion trigger with site url?

    https://sitename.staging.wpmudev.host/ vs https://sitename.com.tr

    Thank you,
    Reha

    Hi,

Have you considered to use Google Tag Manager environments?

This way, you can publish different versions of your GTM implementation to your staging site and live site using the same container ID.

You can set GTM environment variables under the Advanced tab in plugin settings.

You can also use exception triggers as you mentioned.
