AVOID – Installing code without permission

  • Within an update, this plugin switched out the plugin I was using, and inserted a whole new plugin with duplicate functionality of other plugins in use. Clash, clash, clash.

    They did not have, or even seek, my permission to do this.

    This company does not respect it’s users, who knows what they will do to your site in future?

    We’ve been burnt, you have been warned.

  • Yes. They certainly did. Luckily for us, we had a staging site as well that was being kept up to date so we were able to simply swap out the sites and go back to the way it was without any worries about whatever code was installed during that update.
