• I was having trouble getting ANY comments to be accepted with the AVH plugin installed, so it was deactivated, then removed completely and STILL can’t get comments through with Jetpack comments enabled. I tried deactivating Jetpack comments, and it works, but I much prefer the Jetpack version. I even tried installing the WP Super Cache plugin to clear all caches, and no luck.

Any idea how I could get this to work again?

If you deactivate and removed the plugin the problems you are having with JetPack comments are not related to the plugin. No idea how to get JetPack comments to work, I don’t use it personally,

I feel like it’s still AVH though, since the message I get back is:

    “Cheating huh
Protected by: AVH First Defense Against Spam”

Must be cache then, either local or a WordPress plugin. Installing Super Cache and then cleaning the cache doesn’t work, as it will only clear cache created by Super Cache.

If AVH First Defense Against Spam is not active that message does not come directly from the plugin.

I disconnected Jetpack from the WordPress account it was connected through, then reconnected it and it seems to have resolved the issue. A little baffling, but I guess I must conclude it was Jetpack’s fault all along.
