Avatars dissapear

One year ago you wrote: “Thank you for reporting. This issue has been fixed (see this pull request) but it’s not yet included in a release. You can try the dev version of the plugin to see if it works as expected (you should use it for testing purposes only).”
Although you write that the bug is fixed the problem still exists. Some, not all, of the avatars disappear in my multisite wordpress (4.4)webbsite even if the size does not exceed the maximum size.
