• I’m so frustrated because I cannot for the life of me figure this out! This is what I’m trying to do: I would like to change the default avatar to enable gravatar images. So that whenever I make a comment on my blog, my gravatar image appears beside my name and whenever someone else makes a comment, there gravatar image appears beside their name.

However I can’t quite get it for some reason and its frustrating, can anyone explain to me how I can do this and if it is possible, I feel as though I’ve tried everything and nothing is working and I just don’t know..

I’m trying to do this with two blogs of mine:

    https://MyBreality.com
    and
    https://FixaFlaw.com

Thanks so much for any assistance with this!

Oh bother – this sounds complicated and I’m terrible with anything complex and technical. =( I don’t wish to change my themes beings as they were both put together by professionals (supposedly) and I paid good money for that. So the only thing I suppose I could try is the plugin idea but that frightens me – I don’t want to ruin my blog in any way and then not know how to fix it. Do you think you’d let me grant you admin access for a day esmi? I feel I can trust you with helping me if you’d be willing too. Up to you of course although I would realllllllllllly appreciate it beings as I don’t really have much of a clue as to what I’m doing with all these plugin options. Please let me know and I’ll set it up asap – if not then I don’t know what to do here haha – I can try it myself but just expect me back on the forums – more then likely with an even deeper issue because I messed something else up lol. =P

    Thanks again!

Unfortunately, troubleshooting is a process of elimination and this is one of the basic steps that needs to be tried. The change may only be temporary to rule the them out as the cause of the problem. If it turns out that the theme is the problem, you will then have to decide how to proceed. If not, then you’ve at least started to narrow the problem down. Most decent themes will retain any custom settings.

Sadly, payment is no guarantee of code quality. Nor is it insurance against compatibility with later versions of WP.

Again, this a basic WordPress Troubleshooting 101. If you can install and activate a plugin, then you can deactivate it. And again, most reasonable plugins will retain their settings. If doubt, save a screenshot of the plugin’s settings page, so that you have something to refer to if you ever have to set the plugin back up again.
