Available spaces resets after booking cut off

  • Hi,

    I have some recurring events, and i have set the bookings to cut off once the event has started so that customers cannot purchase a ticket to an event that has already started.

    My event listings display the number of available tickets left. except when the booking cut off date kicks in.

    with 10 max tickets, if 2 tickets had been booked, leaving 8 remaining spaces, after the cut off that number changes from 8 back to 10.

    Would it possible to preserve the number of booked spaces? or make the #_AVAILABLESPACES shortcode display a ‘bookings are closed’ notice if the booking cut off date has passed. it just doesnt look very good on my site to have all events have 10 tickets left even tho they were all booked out before the cut off date.

    I am doing some tests, and when i submit a booking for myself and i wait until the cut off for the booking as passed, the number of available spaces reflects the true amount of tickets which is 9 in this case.

    I can’t figure out why the bookings for the other events are not causing the relevant #_AVAILABLESPACES shortcode to reflect the number of booked tickets.

    I manage this website for a business in Las Vegas, and the store has several staff members which make bookings for customers by acting on the customers behalf using the no-user booking mode. I suppose there is a chance one of the staff members did something unusual.

    I will keep this ticket open and run some more tests and then close it if the problem does not surface again.

    any tips of feedback or ideas from others is welcome ??

    Hi Julian,

    If you can recreate this and give some steps that’d be helpful. Just tested this out quickly and don’t get this problem. However, instead of showing 0 available spaces it shows the number of spaces without considering date limits.

    There are conditional placeholders you can also use to check if fully booked or if bookings are available at all, e.g. is_fully_booked – https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/conditional-placeholders/

    I have not been able to reproduce this problem either, and i think i will be able to fine tune exactly what i need, ill go ahead and mark this as resolved, thanks for the links ??
