I am using the popular Avada WordPress theme which supports your calednar plugin. I have two questions:

    1) on any events listing page (i.e. https://empresstheatre.org/events/1984-movie-screening/) at the bottom there are two buttons, “+ GOOGLE CALENDAR” and “+ ICAL EXPORT”. Hitting either of these grabs the correct event name and time, but the description includes all of the shortcode and css text for the event description on the page. Would it be possible for it to pull the text that I have set excerpt box instead? So that it doesn’t pull all the shortcode too. Similarly if you want to get the RSS feed (https://empresstheatre.org/events?ical) each event description has all of the shortcode text in there. Again, would it be possible that to only pull the text from the excerpt section?

    2) On my homepage (https://empresstheatre.org/) the featured image set for each event is not using a scaled image pre-scaled by wordpress, instead it is using the fullsized image and fitting that into place. I have contacted the theme developers but they have been very unhelpful with this issue. Would you be able to point me in the right direction for getting this resolved please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi @jamiolee

I wish we could help with that further. The description is a function of your theme. I’d suggest reaching out to Avada’s support for that issue.

Also, the featured image is set by your theme.

If these issues happen in a default WordPress theme, like Twenty Seventeen, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Courtney

Thank you for responding. I thought that would most likely be the case. I will find an alternative solution to what I am trying to achieve on the homepage.
