Avada + All in One SEO = Wrong Post Titles in Social Media Shares
-
Any post when shared on social media will show the wrong title and description for the link.
I have already reset the AIO settings back to default – no change.

Hi @brandyqk,
Thanks for reaching out! In checking the page source code and looking at the post on Twitter, it looks correct –
Source Code: https://a.supportally.com/i/wskWtd
Twitter: https://a.supportally.com/i/t4DpKn
I’m not sure if this was intentional, but you’re missing Open Graph meta in your page source. You’ll want to enable this in Social Networks to share on Facebook.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.Hi, I turned it on, but it’s still showing the wrong post.

Hi @brandyqk,
For that page here’s what I’m seeing in the Facebook Debugger Tool and page source code –
Debugger -https://a.supportally.com/i/BtszNE
Source Code – https://a.supportally.com/i/hj2NoH
The display is correct in the Debugger based on what’s in the page source code.
If you would like to use the image that’s on the page then you’ll want to select a different setting by scrolling down to AIOSEO Settings > Social and change the setting in Image Source on the page itself.
Please let me know if I’m missing something or if you have any other questions. Thanks!
I made those changes, but I’m still getting the same results.
AIOSEO –> Social Networks –> Facebook –>

On post settings with share results:

Hi @brandyqk,
In checking the source code for that URL, it’s missing the og:image tags which would include the featured image – https://a.supportally.com/i/paUxo0
The image on that page looks like it’s part of a slideshow – https://a.supportally.com/i/iHJKeSIf it’s a single image, please try adding it as an featured image on the page and then check it again.
It would be good to set a Default Post Image in your Facebook settings as well here – https://calicomarketing.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/AIOSEO_Settings-scaled.jpg
That image will act as a fallback in case an image cannot be loaded for some reason.
Thanks!
The title still is not showing correctly. And I added a default image that does not show either:

Hi @brandyqk,
The default image that you have set is now showing for the post –
https://a.supportally.com/i/HXaKvH
The image not showing is related to Facebook caching the post.
You can clear the cached Facebook information by following the steps here-
https://aioseo.com/docs/troubleshooting-problems-with-sharing-content-on-facebook/#:~:text=the%20next%20check.-,Using%20the%20Facebook,-Debug%20Tool%20to
For the incorrect title, could you please recheck the Post SEO title setting on the post? https://a.supportally.com/i/w9v0xv
If it’s a custom SEO Title, then you’ll want to leave the Facebook Title field blank to use the custom SEO Page Title – https://a.supportally.com/i/ibDaut
Please let me know what you find.
Thanks!Hi @brandyqk,
We haven’t heard back from you in a couple of days. I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
Thanks!
its called a holiday weekend, hon, I haven’t tried your solution yet. Give me a minute!

Are you giving up on this? It’s a big deal, my client can’t share his posts on social media properly.
Hi @brandyqk,
I’m sorry about the delayed response here. We’re here to help you figure this out.
Could you please check in Avada > Options > Advanced > Features and scroll down to Open Graph Meta Tags and make sure that it’s Off.
Also, please clear any website or server cache as well.
Then recheck the page in the FB debugger. Be sure to click on the Scrape Again button.
Please let me know what you find in your Avada settings. Thanks!
Open Graph Meta Tags were always off.

Hi @brandyqk,
Thanks for checking that.
Can you please confirm that you clicked on the “Update” button at the top of the Post after making changes? Are you still seeing the same title and description on the edit post screen after reloading the page or does that change back to “Dollar Tree – Knipp Wolf Net Lease Group” or is it empty?Could you also please check for any console errors when you click on “Update” button after adding the desired Title and Description in the Facebook settings?
Here’s how to check for console errors –
https://aioseo.com/docs/how-to-open-the-browser-error-console/
Please send a screenshot of any errors. Thanks!
Thanks for checking that. Can you please confirm that you clicked on the “Update” button at the top of the Post after making changes?
Yes, I’m hitting “Update” and clearing the browser cache.
Are you still seeing the same title and description on the edit post screen after reloading the page or does that change back to “Dollar Tree – Knipp Wolf Net Lease Group” or is it empty?
Yes. I have successfully overridden the Dollar Tree thumbnail with the generic image, but it still shows that post title instead of the post that it’s linking to.
Could you also please check for any console errors when you click on “Update” button after adding the desired Title and Description in the Facebook settings? Here’s how to check for console errors – https://aioseo.com/docs/how-to-open-the-browser-error-console send a screenshot of any error
Here is the error it’s showing.
https://calicomarketing.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/error.jpg
The error is a non-related Google mapping that’s from another plugin. I’ll have my guy fix it, but I doubt that’s the cause of this issue. I believe this because when you share the listings from the plugin, they show fine in Facebook.
