• Hi,

I am having a problem with WordPress automatically saving settings when I make a change. For example when I add a new user, when I select the role it submits the form, before I click submit.

Is this a normal feature of WordPress and if so how do I disable? I have taken my sites down briefly because of this! (they are back up now!)

    Thanks,

    Josh

  • By default. WordPress only autosaves when you are editing a Page or Post.

Ok thanks, so this is an issue with my installation then?

Does anyone know why it might be doing this?

    Thanks,

    Josh

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Not yet and I can’t do that unfortunately, its a corporate blog and disabling plugins would take the sites down which is a no no.

I may have to live with it, but at least now I know its not a simple option to change.

    Thanks!
