• Hey!

We want to use the post notification feature of MailPoet to send notifications about new posts of a custom post type (CPT).

I have set up an email, type notification. Added some nice content and the dynamic block to display 1 post of the CPT. Styled the dynamic block. Added the shortcode [newsletter:post_title] to the mail subject and a text block inside the email.
Created a new list and added 3 receiver to the list, that are confirmed.

As I now publish the first CPT post the email is send and all placeholder are replaced.
As I publish the second CPT post no email is send. I tried publishing multiple post, but no more email has been send. For one of the post I managed to take the following screenshot of the history list:
    Bildschirmfoto 2020 05 19 um 11 18 55

The tool says for the second email: “no subscriber”. But the list has not changed. I guess the duplication check to prevent sending one email double to any subscriber fails.

Also inside the history list the subject line seams to not have replaced the placeholder inside the email subject line.

I also tried to add the [newsletter:post_title] shortcode to the analytics field to see if it changes something.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong or is that a bug?

    Greetings

  • Hello @drivingralle,

Sorry you’re having problems sending Post Notifications. When sending is stuck at 0% or Post Notifications are not sent at all, the problem could be due to the Newsletter Task Scheduler not being able to start. The task scheduler runs as a background process to ensure that your emails are processed and dispatched on time. Sending won’t work if the scheduler connection can’t be established for any reason.

To check and fix this problem kindly go to the MailPoet >> Help >> System Status tab and check if you see any error message there. You may also refer to this guide, and look for the steps under “Task Scheduler is not working”. Reference: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/231-sending-does-not-work

    The task scheduler works fine.
MailPoet >> Help >> System Status says: Connection successful.

As I describe sending the first 3 email are send fine and fully automatic.
The second post notification for the second post published is scheduled but send zero emails because the tools says “no subscriber”.

After a few seconds the second post notification is gone from the sending history.

Are you saying the email has been properly sent?

If so, it confirms the problem was caused by a temporary sending issue you had at some point.

Please let us know if it happens again.

The email for the fist post notification have been send fine.

The emails for the second and all other posts notifications have not been send.

Today I tested the latest version of MailPoet & MailPoet Premium and the problem persists.
