Autoptimize taking out some fonts

    Hi!

    Love using Async JS, but when activating autoptimize it also took out some fonts on our page. Any ideas why this happens? I have currently deactivated the plugin, but I would love to use your plug-in to speed up my page! Looking forward to your reply.

    First and foremost try to identify what is breaking fonts by just disabling CSS or JS or HTML or Image optimization (incl. lazyload). Based on that we can see what the next steps need to be ??

    Hi Frank!

    Thanks for a swift response! I put up a staging site and found out that its the CSS feature that is breaking our fonts. Any ideas for futher progress?

    OK, next step does disabling “also aggregate inline CSS” help?

    If not in the CSS optimization exclusion field, can you try excluding one of below each line and report back?

    * wp-content/themes
    * OR wp-content/plugins

    Yes! That worked!

    So i reactivated the plug in and removed the option for “also aggregate inline CSS”.
    What kind of features am i excluding by not choosing this option?

    And does autoptimize speed up the website on mobile devices too?

    not aggregating does not have a performance impact, so perfectly safe to leave it unchecked. and yes AO optimizes irrespective of visiting device-type, but mobile is a lot harder to optimize for (as all except the high-end devices are severely limited in CPU and bandwidth is often a limitation as well).
