    Hello,
    I decided to use this plugin in order to increase my website speed and fix Render Blocking CSS in Above-the-Fold Content in WordPress.
    I have installed the plugin and activated it with checking of the CSS and Java script optimization.
    The speed goes down instead of going up. why is that?
    and how to proceed after activating the plugin?

  • Bonjour Rihab;
    I did a quick comparison of your site on webpagetest.org with and without (just add ?ao_noptimize=1 to the URL) AO these are the results;

    without AO;
    Load Time First Byte Start Render
    13.452s 0.160s 2.287s

    with AO:
    Load Time First Byte Start Render
    12.120s 0.158s 1.190s

    So your site is actually faster with AO ??

    If you want to optimize further, esp. for the render-blocking CSS, have a look at the FAQ for info on “inline all CSS” (easy) and “inline & defer CSS” (better).

    Bonne dimanche,

    Bonjour Frank, comment allez vous :D?
    Thank you so much for your quick reply.
    I did use this tutorial in order to fix the above the fold issue.
    The tutorial mentioned a problem with the loading of the page and honestly I am facing this issue. The pages load funny before loading correctly. Please check some of my pages.
    Do you have any idea how to fix that.
    The website is faster after applying this tutorial. I still have a problem with the fonts and the java script rendering.

    Thank you for your help ??

    The pages load funny before loading correctly.

    well, the fact of the matter is that AO only has one field for critical CSS, which can be enough for simple sites, but for more complex sites you need the ability to define different critical CSS for (groups of) different pages. have a look at this video for info on how that can be fixed (spoiler: premium service, not free)

    I still have a problem with the fonts and the java script rendering.

    you’ll probably have to keep excluding jquery.js, but you could tick the “remove google fonts”-option in Autoptimize? or alternatively try the “google webfont optimizer”-plugin?

    Hello Frank,
    a quick question. how to have Autoptimize CriticalCSS Power-Up installed?
    I guess I have to buy this one and the access for the criticalcss.com?

    Thank you Frank.
    Can I as u one more question?
    Can you please recommend any good plugin to resize and optimize images?

    well, I recommend shortpixel, cfr. the “optimize more”-tab on AO’s settings screen ??
