    Hi Frank,
    Amazing plugin. I can’t imagine how many sites Autoptimize must be helping every day.

    The problem:
    I have suddenly stopped seeing any data being cached in Autoptimize folder. The plugin shows zero cache size on back-end too.

    I don’t remember doing any configuration changes. I’m using WPRocket on my site but minifying and inlining options are used from Autoptimize only.

    It was working fine until 2 days ago.
    Any help is highly appreciated. ??

    well, I had a quick look and AO is still working and the linked AO-files are returnign optimized CSS & JS, which means the problem is just with the logic that calculates the number of files in cache.

    so next steps;
    1. use your hoster’s panel or (s)ftp or a file manager plugin to check the contents of wp-content/cache/autoptimize/js and wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css
    2. check your php error log-file for relevant entries

    Hello Frank,

    Thank you for your response. I was testing different caching solutions and turns out it gives problem only with the WP Rocket plugin.

    Right now I’m using WP Fastest Cache combined with AO’s optimizations and the problem doesn’t exist anymore.

    The only thing right now that annoys me is multiple numbers of minified files generated by AO, although it already has one combined .php file. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    Thank you!

    it is normal for AO to generate multiple CSS & JS-files actually; you as a logged in user are likely to be served different CSS & JS vs non-logged-in users for example, but some plugins will only add CSS/ JS on pages where they are active and so on, so you would have a different autoptimized CSS and/or JS files in those cases.

    only when your cache size grows quickly (hundreds of files in an hour e.g.) that you should review your configuration. esp. the “also aggregate inline JS” and “also aggregate inline CSS” options can cause cache misses, so if needed disable those.
