Autoptimize + Async JavaScript – save not working

  • I have installed Autoptimze + Async JS to improve our GT Metrix score.

    I have used the wizard for Async and it improves our sore from 66/76 to around 96/87 which I am happy with.
    The only problem is when I press save nothing happens and the GT Metrix scores go back to 66/76. I’ve even paid the extra for critical CSS ￡5pm

    Any help to get our score improved would be appreciated

    PS I’m not a technical expert so keep any advice simple.

    so is “save” not working for AsyncJS or for Autoptimize neillukins ?

    No save is not working. I’ve tested it three times.

    The results are displayed and when I click save nothing happens

    so you’re talking about the settings-page, right? but is that the Async Javascript settings page, or the Autoptimize settings page?

    If I click on the Async Javasript wizard and run this, I click on proceed to step 2 where it gives me the initial test result 66/76 and then the Async results x4. Step 3 is the results and recommendations and then when I press on proceed to step 4 it says apply settings Y/N – I click Y and it says settings saved – now when I test GT Metrix again they haven’t saved.

    OK, so AsyncJS indeed. Now when you say “they haven’t saved”, is that based on the settings you see on the settings page, or on the fact that you don’t have 66/76 any more?
