    Hi,

So i use google pageSpeed insights and GTmetrix website checker/graders to see the health of my site. On pageSpeed insights there is a rather bad score for initial server response time anywhere from 2.5s to 5.5s. #after testing themes and plugins I’ve narrowed it down to be directly cause by the autoptimize plugin. When i deactivate the plugin the TTFB (Time To First Byte) or bad serve response time completely disappears from any report. So my question is why does this happen to a plugin that should help with sort of thing and what can there be done to help this?

    Thanks.

Autoptimize does some extensive parsing of HTML and CSS & JS to optimize and as such does have an impact on server response time Danny, which is why we strongly recommend it to be used with a page caching layer (plugin or other) as AO does not to page caching. Now the impact on response time _should_ be 0.1-0.2s, so if it is bigger then some reconfiguration might be needed.

First step would be to disable just CSS or just JS or just HTML or just Image optimization and see which one of those has the biggest impact?
