Hey there, how are things going for you today? ??

Me? Can’t complain really, I’m pretty excited about Autoptimize 2.9 actually which is almost ready to be released.

What’s new in that version you ask? Well, let’s see …

    • JS optimization options have been reviewed, adding “defer inline JS” as sub-option of “do not aggregate but defer JS”, which means that generally you should be able to defer _all_ JS!
    • For image optimization you won’t have to lazyload to have nextgen images any more, which means that all those background-images can be nextgenned now as well (default webp, avif optional)
    • There are now per page/post settings, allowing you to disable certain optimizations for a page or post.
    • And off course there are misc. bugfixes and smaller improvements

Ah, you’re excited to and you would like to help?

Well; it would be great if you could download the beta either from github (which will auto-update when new versions are available) or from the www.remarpro.com svn-based build system and install that instead of 2.8.4 (be sure to disable that before enabling 2.9.0-beta).

Let me know what you think! ??

    Have a great day!
    frank
