When using Autoptimize and Envira with “Optimize Javascript Code”enabled without modifier changes, Envira breaks. If I use some of the Javascript modifier seetings, I can get it to work, but there is a large performance drop. Is there a better way to retain performance?

Honestly? Use a theme that has as little “cruft” as possible. No web-fonts, 3rd party widgets (FB/Twitter/…). And no javascript that does not allow to be aggregated (often a problem with jQuery image sliders, which in that case also requires one to exclude jquery.js as well).

    hope this helps (somehow),

    Thanks Frank

By way of an FYI, Envira is not a theme, it is a gallery plugin. You definitely helped, though. By excluding envira.js and jquery.js from aggregation, I was able to minimise the performance loss. Thank you again.
