automation failing to pass new posts to Twitter API

    We publish a daily macroeconomic newsfeed at and pass a tweet, image, and permalink to twitter. This is a frustratingly intermittent issue, usually impacting no more than 1 of our 20+ weekly posts, but today 2 of 4 failed to post. Log shows the two with successful Twitter API calls, but no error messages or any other trace of the other two.

    At this point I’m exploring options to replace Uncanny Automator from my site.

    Hi @markrhill61 ,

    Sorry to hear about the issue. We definitely need to get to the bottom of what’s happening.

    To confirm, all posts are published the same way (no difference in publishing method, author, etc.) and a single recipe is involved. It sounds too like posts that aren’t showing up on Twitter simply have no log entries at all either, so it’s like the trigger isn’t recognizing the new post being published.

    Assuming all of that is correct, it would help to see the exact recipe you’re using with everything expanded. If it’s a taxonomy-based trigger, maybe there’s an issue with how it’s getting set.

    It would also help as a starting point to get a status report from Automator > Status (feel to remove the URLs at the top).

    Sorry for failing to respond: things has been working smoothly, but we’ve just had failures both yesterday and today: new posts appear on WordPress, but fail to publish to the Twitter API and also fail to appear in the log. Recipe below.
