Automatically trim any URLs in posts/pages

Hi everyone,

I’ve a wp based website that has few authors and a quite number of commenters. The problem is that some of the authors and commenters are not tech-aware people and they tend to posts links in their posts/pages/comments that are terribly long and are ruining the design of the site.

Back in the day, there was a plugin called ‘wp-chunk’ that was trimming such URL’s automatically, but it seems its page is no more alive, and I cant find the plugin either. Is there anything else that could be done to fix the issue? Is there any other plugin like that? (All I can find is about trimming posts URL’s which isnt really helpful). Or am I doing something wrong here, that I’ve such issue?
