    Howdy,

I don’t know if this is even possible, but I’ve run into an issue that I’d love to figure out and figured I’d present it to the WordPress Community at large.

On my client’s real estate website, I have established various custom post types, each with varying custom fields from which to populate his various listings for “Sales”, “Rentals”, and “Luxury Buildings”. I have all of these working smoothly through the implementation of the plugins “Custom Post Type UI” and “Custom Fields Template”.

The next step for my client’s ease of use if hopefully trying to implement automatically selected “Category” taxonomies on the back end so that he doesn’t have to click the little check box for “Sales”, “Rentals”, or “Luxury Buildings” as the category, by which users can search a specific type.

Is there any way to automatically define all posts under a particular custom post type as a member of a specific category? In other words – can I either have the category box pop up on the back end wp-admin with the specific category already checked? Or perhaps modify the custom post type template file to automatically define the type?

I hope this makes sense – any help would be greatly appreciated!
