Hi everyone, this is my first time with wp.
I need to import all products from another tool. This tool can export a csv with all details of each product except EAN.
Is it possible to assign the EAN to all the products in one go?
Second question: can I use a scanner to quickly add a single product?

  • Hello @cangiante,

Yes, it is possible to export products with their EAN. If you are using the standard WooCommerce exporting tool, then our EAN field will be added to the list automatically. If it’s some external plugin (like “WP All Export”), you may need to add it as a custom field with the _alg_ean key.

Regarding the second question, we are sorry to let you know that you can’t use a scanner to quickly add a single product using our plugin.

If you have any other questions, then please let us know.

    Kind regards,

Thank you very much for your reply.
I realized that i explained myself very badly.
My problem is neither with exporting nor with importing,
my problem is that i have a long list of products — without EAN — in my woocommerce, and I have to add the EAN for each product, but i certainly can’t do it by hand

    Hello @cangiante,

Thanks for explaining your question in more detail.

You can generate EANs automatically for all of your products with our WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools > Generate EAN for all products tool.

If you have any other questions, then please let us know.

great! one last clarification: is the generated EAN “valid”? I mean, if I use that generated EAN to search for the corresponding product on amazon (yes, amazon has this feature), do I find it? do they match?

    Hello @cangiante,

I hope you are well today.

Our plugin simply generates random (but valid) EANs. However, if you search for the same EAN on Amazon, it won’t match, or there will be no such EAN at all. You would need to buy EAN codes from GS1 in order to utilize them on Amazon since the company only accepts EANs from them.

I hope it helps. If you have any other questions, then please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Moshtafizur
