Yesterday I logged in to my blog, and make the auto-update when I saw it was a new version out
It worked as usual, but on the “last page” in the installation prosess, I got this message:
“You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.22.” (then it was to late to go back)
Why did not the auto-innstaller(?) tell me my MySQL was the wrong verison until it was to late???????
And now I can’t edit posts, I can’t se my adminpanel. Only the message I mention
How do I reverse my innstalation?? How to go back to my earlier version?
I do have a backup from thuesday.

Do not remember what version I had before I did the autoupdate yesterday. I think I made the last autoupdate about a month ago

  • Auto-Update definitely missed this issue for sure. Same thing happened to me.

The easiest way to regain access to your adminpanel is to FTP into your server and overwrite the wordpress files with your backup files.

If you didn’t save your backups then you’ll either need to overwrite them with an older version, or upgrade your mysql database to version 5. I’ll do this eventually, just haven’t looked into what’s involved yet.

Backup all your files before doing anything just to be safe. Good Luck!
