    The automatic update does not seem to work. It gets to downloading……and then nothing happens.

    This generally means your server is running out of memory. Try deactivating all plugins and THEN upgrading. But if that fails, you may need to do it manually.

    I have same issue and have tried every thing with no results. I have disabled all plugins and no result.

    I do not accept that doing manual is only alternative

    A tmp file gets created and then process stops.

    It seems like a permissions issue.

    Could a cdn be a factor?

    I tried everything I know – 30 years experience! In the end, I had to do a manual update and took the precaution of copying everything beforehand so I could paste it back.
    Yes, I do know about the backup programs – I got the email that should have had the backup attache – no attachment!
    There is something seriously amiss!
    The actual Blog program is good – but the auxilliaries……***!!!
