I have to delete my version of Updraft Plus Plugin if I want to install the developer version. Will my preferences all be gone than?

No, it won’t replace your preferences. But, you can just unzip the zip file above, and replace the folder wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/central in your install with the ‘central’ folder from the above zip. Then you will still have Premium.

I tested it with one site and it works. Now I can update Divi.
