Automatic Update – all 4 sites down – Help!

  • Hi – I received notification of an automatic update today and now my sites aren’t working. I get the 500 Internal Server Error.

    I have changed name of plugins folder – but doesn’t look like a plugin issue.
    Deleted htaccess file.
    Tried increasing memory.

    I’m not a developer and have asked for support from my host with no answer yet.

    What could it be? They are backed up sites so it’s more frustrating that dire.
    All different themes.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Ok they have reappeared after a number of hours. But why did they go down in the first place? Other people with WordPress sites that updated today on same host didn’t have the problem I had?

    Could you grab everything from your website’s *error logs and paste it into a PasteBin page: https://pastebin.com/ – Then link us to that?
