Yesterday night I’ve set up the Weglot platform and subscribed to a Business plan, and during the night everything seemed to work well, until about 8 or 9 oclock this morning – pages on the site have been automatically translated, I have edited several of the translations with no problems, added some exceptions that should not be translated.

Then the problem started when a friend from Germany I asked to check the translations reported that he sees only the English originals, and not the translated pages. I checked and also got only the English originals for several minutes, and it seemed that even the Weglot server was offline for a short while. Then the translated pages started reappearing, but only the translations that have been generated before the problem seem to work – previously untranslated pages do not automatically translate anymore!?

I’ve doublechecked everything in my Weglot dashboard, and am still far under the 50.000 word limit of my plan, so that can’t be the reason for blocking new translations. I can still normally edit the existing translations from the dashboard, but no new translation generation works.

Also, the guys I’ve asked to check if the automatic language redirection works say that it doesn’t.

Since this situation continues for several hours now, I’d like to know if it’s some temporary problem with the Weglot server, and if it is, when is it going to be resolved? I’ve invested quite some money into it last night, and I seem kind of disappointed by running into problems the next morning.

The page that I linked below is just one of the previously untranslated pages that is now refusing to complete the translation process (if it’s displaying completely in German, it means that the problems with the server have been resolved in the meantime).

With prompt help of Weglot technical support the issue was resolved. It obviously had somthing to do with caching by WP Super Cache – as soon as I deleted the cache translation got back to normal. For a brief period right after that the CSS in the translated pages got corrupted, but it restored itself to normal in a matter of minutes. Now everything is working fine again.
