    Hi

I’ve used automatic updates for all my plugins for 7 years without problem but now I’m getting this error

‘Automatic update overdue by 5 days. There may be a problem with WP-Cron.’

My theme’s author said it was a server problem and my host said I would need to set up a new cron job. I don’t even know what a cron job is but it shouldn’t be this complicated anyway, as I say I’ve had no problem with this for 7 years.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be and how to fix it ?

  • I would strongly suggest you to reach to your hosting tech support, and see if they allow/support the Cron jobs on the hosting plan you are using at the moment for your website. It could be a server related issue or a plugin misusing the cron jobs

OK, thanks, my host has sorted it, I’ll close the ticket
