Automatic Parent Category Selection on Subcategory Selection

In a previous message, I have been asking how to change an existing category to be a subcategory.

Once done, posts belonging to a subcategory won’t show that the same posts are also belonging to the parent category, although they will be included when listing posts from a parent category, when using the following URL structure:

https://myblog/category/parentcategory

I’m asking myself if there’s a way to make WP automatically select parent categories when a post is assigned to subcategory
