    Hi,

can the Cookie Settings option be set to opt-in by default and leave the option for the opt-out to the user? That would be useful for implementing GA with anonymized IP.

    Best regards,
    Miroslav

    This goes against GDPR.

But, this is probably the 100th time I got this request, so I decided that I will change this behavior for v2.0 that I’m working on right now to allow for more flexibility and leave the option for users to deal with the law how they see fit.

I plan on getting 2.0 shipped by the end of the week if possible.

    Hold on ??

Hey, can it just turn-on after clicking the “agree” button?

I really need an option to activate the cookies AFTER clicking the ‘I agree’ button, but not sooner. So, the scenario would look like this:
    – the user loads the website, no cookies loaded, but in settings some cookies are enabled by default
    – when the user clicks ‘I agree’ button, the settings apply – so if there was no changes in the preferences, the ‘active by default’ cookies loads
    – if the user unchecked the cookie in preferences, it is not loaded after clicking the ‘agree’ button

Will there be possibility to do that in 2.0?

This will be available in v2. It’s coming soon.
You will be able to set different statuses to cookie categories.

    Required
    ON by default
    OFF by default
ON by default except if DNT

@fclaussen that’s awesome! Can’t wait for the new version, I’m refreshing your plugin github page every few hours ??

P.S. Will the v2 be available for free, or maybe you’re planning some premium version?

Fernando Clausse thanks for a great plugin. Regarding concent its ok to load all cookies if the user clicks agree in the first step. Many other plugins which are not as great as yours do this e.g. https://www.civicuk.com/cookie-control/v8/documentation. If you click agree all cookies will be set but the user can always turn them off under preference. If the user does not accept only nessesary cookies should be loaded of course.

@grzegorzp I assume the on by default category will only be on if the user accepts cookies in the first step? If not its important to have an option like “ON when user accepts cookies”

@jakobde I think that what we all need is “ON when user accepts cookies”. Otherwise this plugin is just perfect. I hope @fclaussen will be able to publish new version before 25th of May. I saw in one post it should be relased today, but I’m not sure if that’s still the case?

Following. I have also done a lot of research and testing of different plugins and systems for this GDPR stuff but this is the best I’ve seen so far. I am also refreshing the page constantly to see if the update is up. I am pretty confident it will rock and that we will have the options needed.

    Hi guys.
I just got back from a long weekend.

    The update is underway.
I might be able to release it today at the end of the day. But probably not with everything I wanted it to have. But most of the important stuff will be there.
