Automatic install plugin updates (Not Updating)

I have plugins that need to be updated and I go through the automatic update process: Unpacking –> Installing latest version –> Removing the old version –> Plugin updated successfully.

Once this is finished and I refresh the plugin page, all of the plugins still show that they need to be updated.

I have manually updated each of them and only then do they show that they’re updated. Once the plugins need a new update I have to go through the same process all over.

Is there a setting or permission that needs to be changed??
