Automatic comma for thousand and up

I was never able to get this resolved and it’s causing me problems with users on the site using the form. It would be really helpful if when they put in 1,000 and up in a certain field that it automatically added the comma for them. Is this possible? I would really appreciate any guidance here. Thanks so much!
