When I pull a tax report (in either standard Woocommerce reports or the new Analytics) the rate showing for the majority of our orders is 10%, based off a city/zip code not near us: 98052. Even more odd, according to TaxJar the rate for this city/zip code is 8.6% (not 10%). This occurred for almost 100% of our in-store sales, as well as most of our online orders as well.

Even more confusing (but a relief), the sales tax was correctly calculated in the order/at the time of sale – and is showing correctly in the individual orders (or we would have caught this much sooner.) It seems to be only in the reporting that there is an issue, which we are just now noticing due to tax time.

Our physical location is zip code 98382 (tax rate 8.5%) in the city of Sequim. We have “Enable Automated Taxes” selected, and Calculate Tax based on “Customer Shipping Address”, as is our state law.

Is this a bug or known issue? Is there a setting I’ve incorrectly set somewhere I can check? Is there a way to clear the data and repopulate the plugin again, to see if that fixes it? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, since it’s tax time and if this doesn’t work we have to go through each individual order for the year and separate them into zip code by hand. Thanks!

Forgot to include: I am running the most up to date versions of WordPress, Woocommerce, Woocommerce services, etc. All plugins on my site are up to date as of today.

@rebeccaolson Due to the complexity of this and to try to not have a lengthy back and forth, would you be able to go to WooCommerce.com and create a ticket so that we can dig into this further? This will allow us to ask for things we cannot ask for here so we can see the reports directly to give better answers.

If you can post the ticket number here once you’ve created it, I can make sure it is taken care of.

Jesse – I’m so sorry, I can’t figure out how to start a “ticket” at wordpress.com. I filled out the contact form after clicking the “ask for help” button, but apparently that just posted the question on the community forum over there. I can’t seem to find a place to ask for help that generates a ticket number.

@rebeccaolson Were you able to create an account at WooCommerce.com? I know this forces you to log in through WordPress.com but if you head back to WooCommerce.com, you should be able to submit a ticket here:

Thank you! That was the link I couldn’t seem to get to (I was in WordPress.com, not Woocommerce.com). My ticket is #2693821 – hopefully I submitted it to the right department. Thanks!

@rebeccaolson Awesome, I just replied to you there, so I am setting this to resolved now.
