    Hi there @anwarhossain,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Looking at the shared logs, it appears that the TaxJar plugin is being requested frequently. This may indicate that there’s an issue with the connection between your WooCommerce store and TaxJar.

Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:

    1. Ensure that the API key you’ve entered in your TaxJar settings is correct. If you’re unsure, you can generate a new API key in your TaxJar account and update it in your WooCommerce settings.

    2. Update the TaxJar plugin: Ensure that you’re using the latest version of the TaxJar plugin. An outdated plugin might cause issues with tax calculation.

    3. Clear cache: Clear your website and browser cache. Sometimes, outdated cache data can cause issues with WooCommerce functionalities.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for responding so quickly!

We are not using the TaxJar plugin. Do we have to use it to get the tax working?

I have cleared the cache, but it did not fix the problem.

    Hello anwarhossain

    Thank you for your reply.

You do not need the TaxJar plugin.
The WooCommerce Shipping & Tax plugin will handle all the API calls for you.

To have a better look at what is happening at the backend, could you enable the Debug Log?
The steps are explained in this guide along with screenshots.

After you enable the Debug Log, try to purchase a product so tax calculation is triggered.
Then go to WooCommerce > System Status > Logs and find entries containing the keywords Tax or Shipping.

I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com
After that, you can paste the Gist link here in your reply.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards

    Hello Zubair,

    Thank you for your response.

We already have the Debug Log enabled. I have added an entry here ( https://gist.github.com/anwarhossainnoyon/f912a845092414fd37a6918d839b80a1 ) for you to review.

I have also added the site’s System Status Report here ( https://gist.github.com/anwarhossainnoyon/9514c5908702dd36c7b1b5435355d258 ).

Thank you again for your help!

    Hi @anwarhossain,

Looking at the logs I see the request was made (so the connection is working fine), and it received a 0 amount. Please keep in mind that even if the tax value for an order is 0.00, Automated Taxes may be working correctly.

If your store is based in, for instance, the United States, you only need to collect sales tax from customers in locations where you have a “tax nexus,” which typically means a physical presence. WooCommerce Shipping & Tax uses your store address (WooCommerce > Settings > General) as your “tax nexus”.

You can also have a tax nexus in another state if you exceed a certain yearly dollar value or order total to another state. If you are unsure of your tax nexus status, please consult a certified local accountant.

If you need to charge tax for any other state, you can add a?tax rate?for that state in addition to using automated taxes to charge customers from that state tax as well. For more information about your States Tax Nexus and Destination Tax rules, please have a look at:?State-by-state guide to economic nexus laws.

I hope this helps so far!
