    Hello,

We just installed Jetpack with Woocommerce taxes on our site.

We have tax nexus in California and have set up our store as California. Tax here is around 7.25%.

We have set taxes to automate.
The products are set as taxable.

However, the cart and checkout are calculating tax as $0.00

    Can you advise pleasE?

    Hi @flinty2000

Thanks for reaching out. Can you send us a URL to the site where we can test this ourselves?

Also, what address were you using for the shipping destination when testing? Automated Taxes will support a single nexus. So, if you were testing with a CA address, then you should see taxes. All other states, however, you will and should see 0% tax unless you’ve manually added tax rates in the Standard Taxes to account for the additional nexus.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

    Hi,

Is there any way I can message you the URL privately?

The address is set to the same state as we have nexus (California) so yes it should be applying tax. No manually added rates have been set.

    Regards

    Hi @flinty2000,

You can reference this thread and create a ticket at the Support Link:

    https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

WooCommerce Shipping should be in the dropdown. From here we can take a look at the URL as well as the features on the site, and see what is going on.

We look forward to seeing you there!

It’s okay. I worked it out. I hadn’t completed the Woocommerce payments section of woocommerce because I am using a different payment plugin.

A bit weird that you need to connect to woocommerce payments just to get the tax part working but okay….

    Hi @flinty2000

I am glad to hear that you were able to get this working.

You don’t need to connect to the WooCommerce Payments plugin to use the automatic tax calculations in WooCommerce Shipping & Tax. It is possible that when you did connect, it reconnected your site to Jetpack, which is used by both plugins.

In either case, I am glad to hear it is working now.

I will mark this as resolved, but if you encounter any further issues and would like to send over the details privately, you can link this topic and submit your ticket here:

    Thanks!
