Automated backup not working
-
I’m aware that this seems to be a common problem – I have read through other posts relating to this issue but don’t seem to have a solution that applies to my site.
I have been using Updraft Plus for 3-4 years. Initially it worked fine, running once daily backups to remote storage. It stopped working during the past 10 months and I have not been able to rectify it.
The version installed is 1.24.4, regularly updated. A manual backup to my remote storage appears to work fine and there are gigabytes of storage available. But scheduled backups simply don’t run.
Backups are usually set to run every 24 hours. I have tried running more/less frequently, and changing packet size, to no effect.
Checking WPCrontrol, I see updraft_backup and updraft_backup_database listed as cron tasks. Once the time for the task has passed they are rescheduled for the next update 24 hours on even though no update has taken place. The WordPress tasks are called from a cron job on the server; this seems to be effective and I have no warning notices about other uncompleted scheduled tasks.
I have previously tried uninstalling and reinstalling which also had no effect.
There is probably something really simple I am missing but would appreciate advice as to next steps. For example, can caching (I am using Litespeed server with Litespeed caching plugin) have some impact on the scheduled backups?
Thanks
