    Dear Colleagues:

I was running WordPress v. 2.6.x and wanted to upgrade to the latest version. I downloaded the automatic upgrade plugin and activated it. All seemed to be going well and I worked through several steps of the process.

When it asked for a “click here” to put the site in “maintenance mode,” it stalled and now I get an error message that says:

” The Site is currently undergoing maintenance, Sorry for the inconvinience

WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin provided by Techie Buzz.”

How do I complete the upgrade and get my site back online?

    Thank you for your help.

Does anyone out there want to MENTOR me on this process via regular email if I have future difficulties? I would greatly appreciate it? Thanks for your consideration – [ Jeff Ross]

I was able to resolve this issue by trying a couple of things:

Deleting the old index.php file via FTP
Renaming the new index.php file supplied by the upgrade
Deactivating all plugins manually EXCEPT the automatic upgrade plugin

The process seemed to work well after that.

Thanks again for anyone who viewed this with the intent to help!

    Regards – [ Jeff ]
