    Hi there,

I know you have code to auto hide the control bar after a few seconds or to leave it on always. Is there a way to make it so the bar does not show up at all? I am referring to the “autohide=1” tag.

Also, I am having a weird playback problem on Samsung Galaxy S4 phones specifically. The video plays, but is almost completely covered by a grey box. S5 and S3 phones work fine, so I don’t think it’s an issue specifically to Android.

    Thank you very much,

    Sindaine

    Sindaine,

Completely hiding the control bar is not possible. If you think about it, it would be a bad idea to not allow viewers to have control over a video they play on their device. That would frustrate people.

The best you can get is the current autohide support that YouTube offers and supported by this plugin.

Finally, this plugin embeds the standard player and does not do anything differently based on the device you’re using. Therefore, the issues that you are seeing on some Samsung phones and not others are beyond our control.

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Although I agree that taking the control away from the user is generally not a good idea, my video clips are only a few seconds long so the bar stays up almost the whole length. Thanks again though for the reply.

I appriciate it. I love the plug in btw. Excellent job.

    Hi,

If you really want a player without the control bar and have a little programming acumen, you can explore the Chromeless YouTube player:
