The plugin is saving the draft in the back end,

    under which author ID?

but it isn’t loading the data when we refresh or revisit the form/page

as which author are you logged in? The draft form will only load for the same author under which it was created/saved

It is saving the drafts under correct author ID, but not loading it when we refresh or revisit the form.

and you refresh while logged in with the same author ID?

Please note that by default if you save a draft without being logged in, it saves it as the admin ID author which will not automatically reload into the form unless you are logged in as the admin

I just checked on my server and the plugin is working as expected.

can you explain the steps you followed so I can understand where you may have gone wrong.

I installed the plugin, and created CF7 form. Under ‘Form to post’, I chose Post Type: New Post, the attributes are default, then mapped the fields. Post title is your-name, other fields are mapped to meta-fields.

I have enabled registration as well for Author role if you needed.

I can see your page, but as a non-logged in user, any forms I save as draft will be saved an the admin, but will not be reloaded in the form as the plugin cannot identify my.

    Follow these steps:
    1. Create a new user account,
    2. log in as that user
    3. fill the form and save draft.
    4. reload the form page and you should see your form values where you left off.

    Hi Aurovrata,

This is what I exactly did. I created a Author role for you as well to test it:

    Login URL: https://limegreen-mongoose-433147.hostingersite.com/wp-login.php
    Username: aurovrata
    Password: #Venet#Aurovrata#

If admin access needed, please let me know where I can send the credentials.

    Thanks!

What is the shortcode you are using to display your form on the frontend?

    @aurovrata

This is the shortcode I’m using:
    [contact-form-7 id=”a104ac6″ title=”Testing”]

ah I see. Please navigate to your form table admin page with the listings of your forms and use the shortcode listed for your form in the table.

Now I changed the shortcode to the following one but still getting the same issue:
    [cf7form cf7key=”testing”]

Sorry for the delayed response, I was travelling.

I checked your online form again and it seems to be loading fine. Can you reach out to me on “vrata at digital-tiff dot in”

Nevermind, it is working as expected now.

Thanks a lot for your help!
