    Hi!
I want to connect several pages already created as translations between each other. But when I go to the edit screen, the meta-box where the translated page name is supposed to autocomplete, it doesn’t. The loading icon just keeps rolling. I’ve tried to start typing the slug, the name, the ID… also with different pages, but nothing. I’ve also tried with different browsers (Firefox, Chrome), no luck.

    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Pilar

    Hi
You must type only the title of the translated page. It can’t work with the slug, the ID.
Did you try with your theme + only Polylang with all your plugins deactivated?

    Hi.
Yes, I’ve tried deactivating all plugins but still have the same problem. If I just type the first letter of the title of the translated page, the loading icon stops after a second of trying, as if there was no page starting with that letter. And if I write the full title, the loading icon keeps twisting, and if I just update then, when the edit screen reloads the title was not saved.

I don’t understand this. Any other ideas why this is happening?

I’d really prefer to avoid having to create all my translated pages again from scratch (by adding them from the plus icon)

    Thanks

Switch on a default theme as Twenty Fifteen + only Polylang, then try to link your translations.
    Does it work?

    Hi Chrysti.

Ok, if I change to Twenty Fifteen + only Polylang it works, thanks. Though, I can’t afford to keep changing themes, deactivating plugins and doing tests… so I had previously removed my old pages and created them again from the ‘plus’ icon, which does work. Thank you anyway.

I’m using a personal child theme of Sparkling. If there is something in my theme that might be causing this bug, please let me know.
