Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

WPyogi – Thanks for the reply,

I did get the website back up, however When I click on “login” to get to the admin section, I get a 404 error message.

In file manager I cannot find an htaccess file. Not sure how to correct this error.

    What can I try?

You’re missing the wp-login.php file. Did you upload that?

    Hi again James,

All files are uploaded and in proper sequence ( I think ).

When I click on admin login now I get the following message.

Warning: require(/home/starflee/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/starflee/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 72

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/starflee/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home/starflee/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 72

    The webite is https://starfleetlock.com
the cpanel user code is starflee, the password is flightleader753.

Please let me know what steps to try.

    Thank Jim Newell

Yeah, so that means you’re missing the /wp-includes/functions.php file too.

I think something may have happened during the upload.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Hello again James,

I’ve tried again deleting and reloading files, no luck still no access to admin.

I am now going to load a fresh wordpress site and then try to restore the
mysql data base from a current backup. If that fails I guess I will just have to recreate the site.

    Thanks for your suggestions
