• I’ve been a wordpress user for the last few years and have always been a fan. But today when I logged into a blog I made for someone, I saw that I could automatically upgrade to 2.8. I thought wow, that’s cool. I clicked the button and walla… it worked! But less than a minute later, I realized that it totally killed all the many changes to the default theme. If I would have upgraded manually, like I always have, I would have backed it up properly, but since it was so easy to just click, I didn’t even think about it! I assume there’s no way to retrieve my old theme (if there is, please let me know). I just lost about 8 hours of theme manipulation. Anyway, I’m very disappointed.

So as far as feature requests go… I think that it should automatically back up before it does an auto upgrade, and it should give you the ability to roll back an upgrade. And for now, it should at least remind you to make a backup before the autoupgrade.

Same thing happened to me. Sucks…especially since I did a lot more than tweaking.
