I got a email from wordpress saying my site has updated auto to 3.8.2. When I sheck it is still 3.8.1. though.

Have two more WP installations on the same server. When I try updating i get 500 – server error. No update installed.

This has never happened before. Done it zillion of times.

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

OK. Could have done a manual update. Wanted to try the auto-update once more — and it WORKED. All I did was de-activating a plugin.

    Thanks.
