Hello — I changed the thumbnails for a few of our videos from within YouTube. If I just try to directly embed the videos through WordPress, the new thumbnails appear, but using this plugin I still see the old thumbnails. Is there a way to force-refresh which thumbnail the plugin is using? I have emptied the cache, etc., to no avail. Thanks.

Hi, do you have a cache plugin installed in your site? If you do, have you cleared the cache? Also you might want to clear the browser cache as well.

Let me know how you go.

Thanks for the reply. As I said, I already cleared the browser cache and it did not help. There is no cache plugin installed on the site.

It actually may be a YouTube problem. I can switch to a custom thumbnail, and I thought they saved, but they are not showing up correctly in the YouTube Video Manager. I guess there’s nothing I can do if YouTube doesn’t manage the thumbnails correctly.

I would use a custom anchor image through the plugin, but I would like to keep the red YouTube play button overlay, and the plugin doesn’t seem to use that.

    Hi,

Unfortunately there is not much our plugin can do in this situation. It is up to YouTube to manage their thumbnail as you said above.

If there is no more help you need with this support thread, can you mark it as resolved.

    Thank you
