I have noticed that the automatic sync is not running every 1.5 hours like it should, but seems to be every other day. This began happening after the update to 3.0. I do not see anything in the logs that shows an error. I have done the conflict testing with other plugins and have not found anything there, either.

My current version of WC is 6.4.1. Would the update to 6.5.1 address this? Any other thoughts?

    Hi @sallyinstc,

Square version 3.0 did make some significant changes to the codebase. Here’s what I would suggest doing to check on this.

In your dashboard, go to WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions.
    Search for wc_square_sync.
Sort by the “scheduled date” column so the most recent ones are at the top.

You should be able to look through these and see how often it is syncing. This is somewhat dependent on traffic to the site. If no one visits the site for a few hours, then a sync won’t be performed until someone does visit.

On my test site, it’s not unusual for it to go a day or longer without syncing if I’m not using it, but when I am actively working with it, these scheduled actions fire every hour.

Let me know what you see in the scheduled actions and we’ll go from there.

    Thanks!

The hook appears to be firing, and completing, every hour. However, when I look at the updates in the Square tab of Settings, it appears to just be updating once per day. Square is set as the product system as record, so the client knows that inventory changes and new products should be added in Square.

What brought it all up was two days ago a variation for one of the products showed inventory in Square but not in WC, and the update had not fired at all that day. The client is pretty active in Square as they sell event tickets to weekly events as well as products, and they update the weekly events pretty frequently.

Let me know what other logs or info you need to see.

    Hi @sallyinstc,

Thanks for checking on that. I did want to clarify one thing. If no changes are made to any products, then the Square updates won’t list that sync. It’ll only create a new record in WooCommerce > Square > Settings > Update when product data has changed or if it encountered an error.

For the product where inventory isn’t updating, is WooCommerce the system of record or is it Square? If it’s WooCommerce, try going to Products and editing this product. Click on the Inventory tab and fetch the current stock level from Square. Does it update this way?

Let us know and we’ll go from there.

    Thanks!
